The journalist Deborah Campbell travels incognito to Damascus in 2007. The objective of this is to cover the exile of Iraqis from their home to Syria after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. Deborah meets there Ahlam, a refugee who is responsible for giving a lot of information so that the journalist can make known what is happening. This woman herself has become a leader, guiding her people and creating a school for displaced girls. One day, Ahlam is dragged from her home in front of Deborah herself, who intends to do what is necessary to find her lost friend.
